Isokinetic sampling
Isokinetic sampling is a critical method used to monitor emissions from fixed sources, as
specified by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). It ensures the collection of a
representative sample of the emitted pollutants from chimneys and other sources without
overestimating or underestimating the emission levels. The process involves using isokinetic
samplers, consisting of a pump (manual or automatic) and glassware components, to carry out
various reference methods specified by the EPA.
