Cyclone Dorr Oliver Nylon 10 mm for NIOSH 600, 7500, 7501, 7601, 7602
Cyclones for fractionation of particulate matter required for evaluation of particulate matter exposure methods such as NIOSH 600.
The Dorr-Oliver unit is a sampling device designed to meet NIOSH sampling requirements for 10 mm nylon cyclones, specifically to separate the respirable dust fraction in the air from the nonrespirable fraction.
It is capable of capturing airborne particles with an aerodynamic diameter of between 0.2 and 10 microns, which can cause lung disease if exposed long-term. This unit is suitable for monitoring respirable fractions of all types of dust, from highly toxic particles to nuisance particulates.
The unit features a two-stage cyclone and lightweight aluminum frame, designed to mount a standard 3-piece 37mm filter cassette, with membrane filter. At a flow rate of 1.7 LPM, recommended by NIOSH, large non-respirable particles are separated centrifugally and collected in a removable bottom sand pot.
Smaller, inhalable particles pass through the cassette, then are captured by the filter membrane. This unit is very useful for monitoring pneumonconiosus producing dust, but can also be used for other types of dust.
