Apex Instruments’ Method 17 Isokinetic Sampling System, which features an XC-53 measurement console, is ideal for collecting and determining in-stack particulate emissions from a variety of sources.

Particulate emissions are commonly collected from coal-fired power plants, cement kilns, asphalt plants, incinerators, and industrial sources. Emission data can be used to determine compliance with environmental regulations, acceptance testing of new control equipment, process optimization studies, smoke dispersion modeling and provide data for health risk assessment.

The system allows operators to monitor gas velocity, temperature, pressure, sample flow rate and volume to maintain isokinetic sampling conditions to obtain representative samples.

Its modular design is easily adapted to test a wide range of pollutants from stationary sources, such as particulate matter, including PM2.5 and PM10 fractions, sulfur oxides, metals, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), dioxins/furans, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and many other pollutants.

The Apex Instruments sampling system is easy to assemble and consists of four sub-systems: a heated probe assembly with a filter and nozzle assembly in a stack, an insulated impinger box with glass, an umbilical cable, and a sample line connecting the impinger sample box and probe to the measurement console.
